Terms of use
Last updated 5 September 2026
These terms cover your use of audionode, including the website at audionode.io, your account, and every sample you preview or download. By creating an account, downloading a sound, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the library.
1. Who we are
audionode is the sample library at audionode.io. These terms are between you and the people who run that site.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It is part of these terms.
2. Your account
Some parts of the library, including playback and downloads, need an account. You must give us accurate details and keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts other people at risk. We may also refuse an account if we have a good reason.
3. Credits and downloads
Downloads use credits on your account. Spending a credit lets you download that file for your own licensed use. It does not sell you the copyright in the sample, and it does not let you resell the file. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable, except where we say otherwise.
Previews in the player are for finding sounds. They are not a substitute for a licensed download when you want to use a sample in a finished work.
4. Licence to use samples
When you download a sample from audionode in line with these terms, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that sample in your own original work. You may use it in:
- music, beats, songs, and albums, including work you sell or stream
- film, television, trailers, and other picture
- games, apps, podcasts, radio, and online video
- adverts, social posts, and live performance
- client work, as long as the client is using the sample inside that finished piece
You may chop, pitch, reverse, process, layer, and otherwise change a sample as part of that original work. You do not have to credit audionode, though you are welcome to.
This licence is for you. You may not transfer the raw files to someone else so they can start their own library. A collaborator may use a sample inside a shared project you are making together. They may not keep the isolated file for other jobs unless they download it on their own account.
5. No resale of samples
The licence above is for finished work. It is not a licence to trade in samples. You must not, for payment or for free:
- resell, relicence, or redistribute any sample as a sample, loop, one-shot, or pack
- upload audionode files to another sample library, marketplace, or free pack
- share the original files, zips, or unpacked folders with people who are not working on your project
- claim the sounds as your own sample library or preset bank
- offer an isolated sample for download, even if you have processed it a little
- use audionode material to build a competing sample product
A new piece of music that happens to contain an audionode drum hit is fine. A zip of drums taken from audionode is not. If someone can lift the sample back out as a standalone sound, you have gone too far.
6. What we still own
audionode, the site, the software, the name, and the raw sample files stay ours, or stay with the creator who uploaded them. You keep the copyright in your own finished work. We do not claim your songs, films, or games just because they include a licensed sample.
7. Uploading packs
If we give you access to upload, you promise that you have the right to offer those sounds, and that they do not infringe anyone else’s rights. You grant audionode a licence to host, preview, and let other users download those sounds under these terms. You can ask us to take a pack down. We may also remove content that looks unlawful, misleading, or outside these terms.
8. Fair use of the site
Do not scrape the library, hammer the servers, bypass credits, share accounts, or try to break security. Do not use the service for anything illegal. We may rate-limit, block, or remove access when we need to protect the library.
9. The service as it stands
We work to keep audionode up, but we do not promise it will always be available, complete, or free of mistakes. Samples are provided as they are. Keys, tempos, and tags are there to help you search. They may be wrong. Preview quality is not a guarantee of the download.
To the fullest extent the law allows, audionode is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect loss from using the site or a sample. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the latest version. If a change is material, we will try to let you know through the site or by email. Keep using audionode after a change and the new terms apply. Samples you already downloaded stay under the licence that applied when you downloaded them, unless we have to revoke access because of a legal problem or a serious breach.
