Choose a 7.5, 15 or 30 IPS voicing, start with a preset, then shape the details. Your settings save with your DAW project.

Input / Output
Set the level into the tape and balance the result.
Drive
Add saturation, from gentle warmth to a compressed texture.
Tone
Shape the playback colour from dark to bright.
Wow / Flutter
Control slow pitch drift and faster tape movement independently.
Hiss / Hiss Tone
Set the noise level and colour, from deeper texture to bright air. Hiss fades when the host reports stopped playback.
Mix
Blend the processed and original signals.

Setup & details

macOS · Logic Pro, Ableton Live & FL Studio
  1. Close your DAW and extract the Mac ZIP.
  2. In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder. Copy the entire Vintage Tape.component bundle into ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ for Logic Pro.
  3. For VST3, copy the entire Vintage Tape.vst3 bundle into ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/. Create the folder if it does not exist.
  4. Restart your DAW and rescan plugins. In Logic Pro, use Settings → Plug-in Manager. In Live, enable VST3 system folders or Audio Units in Plug-ins settings. In FL Studio, use Options → Manage plugins → Find installed plugins.

The current bundle is named Vintage Tape for continuity with existing projects; its interface is Tape Deck by Fletcher Audio. Replace your existing copy in the same location rather than keeping duplicates.

Windows · Ableton Live & FL Studio
  1. Close your DAW and extract the Windows ZIP.
  2. Copy the complete Vintage Tape.vst3 bundle into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\. Windows may request administrator permission.
  3. In Live, enable VST3 system folders and rescan. In FL Studio, open Options → Manage plugins → Find installed plugins.
  4. Add Tape Deck / Vintage Tape as an effect on an audio or mixer track.

A Mac .vst3 cannot run on Windows. Choose the archive for your operating system.

Update or uninstall

Save your project and close your DAW before replacing a plugin. Keep the previous ZIP if you need to roll back. To uninstall, remove the installed bundle from the folder you used above, then rescan. Existing projects using the plugin will report it missing.

About compatibility

Tape Deck is an audio effect, not a sound generator. The Mac build contains Apple Silicon and Intel code; Intel runtime testing is still pending. The Windows build is in preparation. We will enable each download once its release checks are complete.
