From wave to texture
One sound.
Three ways to shape it.
Start with a wavetable, push it through a warp, then break that sound into grains. Each of the three oscillators has its own chain, with a sub and noise source to round out the patch.
Push the warp
Each oscillator has a dedicated warp stage. Bend, fold, sync and reshape the wave, or use another oscillator for FM, phase, amplitude or ring modulation.
Granulate your sound
The granulator works on the oscillator you just shaped. Blend in overlapping grains, then modulate size, density, position and spray from the GRAIN tab.

Make a clear note bloom into a cloud, add pitched layers, or hold a moment in place. The GRANULATE dial blends the result with the dry oscillator; SIZE, DENSITY, POSITION and SPRAY put the movement under your control.

01 · Circuit-modelled filters
Give the wave a character
Choose from 38 filter types, including circuit-modelled ladder, SEM-style, OTA, acid and Sallen-Key responses alongside clean digital and creative models. Shape resonance and drive, then route the filters in series or parallel.
02 · Analog voice character
A little difference in every voice
Switch on Analog to introduce eight modelled voice cards, with small differences in tuning, drift, filter cutoff, envelope timing and level from voice to voice.
03 · Modulation
Draw movement. Play the result.
Four envelopes, ten LFOs including chaos, eight macros and a 64-slot modulation matrix. Drag a source to a control; hover over a tab while dragging to reach another page or module.
04 · Effects
Three racks to finish the sound
Shape a main rack and two effect buses, each with eight slots. Build chains with Ensemble, Distortion, Echo, Reverb, Convolve, compression and more, with a dedicated display for each module.
05 · Arpeggiator
The pattern works in every mode
Choose how held notes are ordered, then shape them with a 16-step pattern. Set rests, pitch, octaves, velocity, gate and ties; add swing, chance, repeats and latch.
06 · Performance
One patch, many directions
Move between four stored parameter snapshots with the Morph XY pad. Add MPE expression, mono or legato playing, and portamento to shape the way the patch responds.
07 · Preset workflow
Make a sound. Make it yours.
Import presets, save your own with descriptions, and see their author and notes in the header. The factory bank is being rebuilt for this version, starting with a new collection of arps and basses.

What is Nodium now?
Nodium is a wavetable synthesizer from Fletcher Audio with three oscillators, a warp and granulator for each oscillator, circuit-modelled filters, analog voice character and extensive modulation. This page shows the current development version.
What changed from the earlier version?
Nodium now focuses on wavetable synthesis. The previous spectral, sample-playback and physical-modelling engines have been removed. Granulation now processes each wavetable oscillator's own sound, with twelve types and dedicated grain controls.
Can I use my own wavetables and samples?
You can import your own WAV wavetables. Nodium no longer has a sample-playback engine or a sample library: its granulators process the live oscillator sound.
How many factory presets are included?
The factory library is being rebuilt for the new architecture. The current development bank contains 24 arps and 20 basses; more sounds are in development. The previous factory-preset collection is no longer included.
Which systems and formats are supported?
The beta targets macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs, with AU, VST3 and a standalone app. Windows is not part of the current beta.
Is the Nodium beta free?
Yes. The beta is free for testers, with no card and no payment required. Features and the factory library may change during development.
